Recycled & Sustainable Materials

Recycling Program

Trash/recycling rooms with separate chutes for trash and recyclables, such as paper, cardboard, glass, plastics and metals, are conveniently located throughout the community.

Additionally, the City of Anaheim has a very successful automated waste collection and recycling program that has significantly decreased the amount of waste dumped in local landfills.

Construction Waste Management

Specific construction waste management procedures were followed to minimize the environmental impact throughout the design and construction process. Over 75% of construction waste generated onsite was recycled. 94% of demolition waste was diverted from landfills.

70,000 cubic yards of sand were donated to the city for improvements made on the Santa Ana river bed.

Recycled Materials

20% of all the materials and products used to build The Crossing contain recycled contents and 20% were manufactured within the local region (within 500 miles). By purchasing regionally manufactured building materials, the local economy is supported while reducing transportation costs and the environmental impacts (pollution) associated with delivering materials.

Carpet selected for the apartments is made of 100% post-recycled content (recycled plastic bottles).
