Upcoming Concerts in Anaheim

Tuesday, August 9th, 2011

Few things compare to a night out in a crazy fun, concert atmosphere. The sound of the music with thousands of adoring fans singing along with an artist is truly something special. It’s a way to get out the routine of life, jump into the lyrics of a song, and be something else for a few minutes. If it’s been a while since you’ve experienced a great concert, or if you’re an avid show-goer who’s ready for the next month’s lineup, here’s a taste of some of the phenomenal artists coming to Anaheim soon.

One Republic performance

Seeing some of these artists perform live might pleasantly surprise you. Shows are often the best way for artists to connect with their fans and get a little more personal.

If you’re thinking you want to rock hard and have a blast, plan to see artists such as Def Leopard with Heart, Ke$ha, or Underoath.

Looking for something a little more soulful? Ben Harper, Gillian Welch, OneRepublic, and Ray Lamontagne are highly talented artists who are coming to town and would be a great combination of a relaxed atmosphere and inspiring lyrics.

Wanting to break the norm and experience something a little different? Bassnectar may be just what you’re looking for. With a taste for hardcore dubstep, Bassnectar is considered an electronica pioneer.

Upcoming concerts in Anaheim bring something for everyone. Let us know what shows you plan to attend!

Anaheim BBQ Spot Closing in December

The Orange County Register confirms that Chris & Pitt’s in Anahiem will close its doors on Dec. 31. This is its last location in our county. Are you a fan of this BBQ chain?

On Yelp, the restaurant has three stars. People have comments, such as “huge portions,” “There’s a ridiculous amount of meat on each rib!!” and “this place is a hole… a time warp of a hole.”

JollibeeIf you don’t think this place should go away, you can join the Facebook group called, “PLEASE DONT CLOSE DOWN CHRIS N PITTS -ANAHEIM!” It has almost 700 members right now.

In its place, on Euclid Street, a fast food place is likely to open up. Jollibee is its name, and it is known for its fried chicken plate called Chickenjoy.

Electric Cars in Anaheim California

Monday, October 11th, 2010

California is leading the way for the nation when it comes to electric cars. And Anaheim is one city that embraces these green car alternatives.

The Orange County Auto Show for 2010 is over; it lasted from Oct. 7 through Oct. 10 in Anaheim. At The Crossing Anaheim, we’re a green living community, so our residents will be glad to know that attendees at the auto show had the opportunity to test drive the new all-electric Nissan Leaf. Those who did drive it were among the first people in the country to do so.

According to an article by NPR, the Leaf (seen in the picture on the left) will cost $20,000 in California after state and federal tax credits.

In a related issue, hybrid car owners have enjoyed riding solo in the carpool lane here in California. This benefit may be coming to an end, though. The stickers will expire Jan. 1, 2011. A renewal of the program is not definite.

Also seen at the auto show this year, the Chevrolet Volt is a new kind of hybrid. It is part electric, but it also can run on gas. This way it makes it easier to use since not many charging stations are available yet.

California has a goal to have 7,500 all-electric and 25,000 plug-in hybrid cars on its roads by 2014, rising to 60,000 electrics and 85,000 plug-in hybrids by 2017, the Wall Street Journal reports. At our apartments, we offer preferred parking for fuel efficient vehicles. Do you own one, or will you in the near future?
