Enjoy Oktoberfest in Anaheim

Friday, September 9th, 2011

Started as a season-long celebration for a German prince who was soon to be married, Oktoberfest is a tradition that dates back hundreds of years and it’s popularity is just as high as ever. It’s no wonder, either; if you built a festival around celebrating the beginning of Fall and drinking lots of beer and eating lots of food, you wouldn’t doubt it’s success, would you? Of course not!

It’s a big affair for cities all over the country even here in America, and Anaheim is no exception at all. The best place to celebrate Oktoberfest in Orange County is definitely going to be The Phoenix Club, where they’ll be having events weekend after weekend all the way into the month of October. The first big draw is of course going to be all the delicious, authentic German food and beer, but there’s more than that. Other attractions you’ll find at their weekend Oktoberfest celebrations will include dancing and live music, train and pony rides for the kids, and lots of other entertainment events for you to enjoy. It’s the biggest party of the fall, and everyone in the area is invited.

It’s free to attend, as well, and like we said they’ll be having events every weekend starting Friday, September 16th and lasting through the end of October. With such a range of dates to attend, you can go any time you’re free. So enjoy the beginning of the Fall season with Oktoberfest at The Phoenix Club in Anaheim. Cheers!

9/11 Memorial Service Conducted by City of Anaheim

Friday, September 2nd, 2011

It’s been ten years since the horrific events of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and people all over the country will be coming together to mourn and remember and pray. No doubt everyone in this country was affected deeply by this terrible tragedy, and the marking of the 10th anniversary is a time to reflect on and remember the events of that day.

The City of Anaheim will be holding a special memorial event on Sunday, September 11th in honor of those who lost their lives ten years ago in the terrorist attacks in New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C. Taking place at Pearson Park Amphitheater, there will be a special presentation of colors, as well as a speech given by Brad Burlingame, the brother of Charles ‘Chic’ Burlingame III, who was piloting the Flight 77 plane that eventually crashed into the Pentagon on September 11th. Everyone in the community is encouraged to attend this special event.

As well, it’s always a good idea to take time to think about and give thanks to the hard working men and women of our Armed Forces, volunteer fire departments, and police departments here in Orange County. These brave individuals put their lives on the line every day for citizens in our country, and they deserve our thanks.

If you know of any other nearby memorial events that are going on in Anaheim and surrounding areas, please feel free to leave a comment and share with us.
