Get Car Dent Estimates Without Leaving Your Apartment

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

It happens. You’re pulling out of your parking spot in our underground parking at The Crossing apartments, and then you accidentally knock your neighbor’s car slightly. Now you both have dents in your cars, but you’re very busy and don’t have time to run around getting estimates. So, what do you do?

One option you have is to visit a wonderful website called DentBetty, which will find quotes for you all located in your town–yes, right here in Anaheim. All you have to do is snap a few pictures and submit them. Within seven days, they’ll send you up to seven estimates from auto shops.

It’s possible to get accurate estimates by photo only, but the damages must only be cosmetic and can’t be too serious. Would you use this service?

At The Crossing: How to Play Shuffleboard

Friday, September 24th, 2010

Here at The Crossing in Anaheim, we have plenty of resort-style amenities. For one, our apartment gameroom is pretty awesome. See a picture below:

The Crossing apartments in Anaheim gameroom, one amenity.

As a resident, have you ever played tabletop shuffleboard? It’s pretty similar to the type of shuffleboard often played on cruise ships. Instead of a cue stick, you use your hand to move the pucks. This game can be played with two or four people. It’s not hard, but read the rules if you like playing the official way.

In college, I’d often play with friends on nights we didn’t want to do anything too extreme.

Have you used our gameroom lately? What did you think?

Sneaky Tip: The Way to Park in L.A.

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

When you don’t want to take advantage of the movie watching opportunity in our apartment screening room, and you decide to go to L.A., which is about 30 minutes away from Anaheim, I’ve found the solution to your parking woes. You already have to deal with traffic, at least now parking won’t be an issue.

Maybe you’re going to see Justin Bieber in October, or you like to watch Kobe Bryant in person. Whatever your desired form of entertainment, when you need to park at The Staples Center, LAX or the Nokia Theater, ParkWhiz can take care of you.

Staples Center in L.A. 30 minutes away from Anaheim. This online service allows you to reserve and pre-pay for your parking spot. When you arrive to park your car, all you’ll need to do is show your receipt to the attendant, and you’ll be good to go have some fun. Most of the time, spots are $20, but some are lower depending on where they are located.

By the way, our Anaheim Ducks will be playing at The Staples Center on Sept. 28.

Free Dessert Today (Sept. 15) in Anaheim

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

Free dessert in Anaheim? Oh yes. This is a freebie everyone at The Crossing Anaheim can appreciate. Even the salty snack lovers among us will enjoy this deal since it doesn’t cost you a thing–although you’ll want to purchase a meal before indulging.

September 15 is Free Dessert Day in several big cities across the country. Many restaurants in and around L.A. are participating. Right here in the vicinity of The Crossing only about eight miles away, you’ll find a restaurant that is taking part in this promotion.

Churros dessert. It’s called K’ya Street Fare – Anaheim. This restaurant serves true Californian cuisine. Go ahead and make your reservation online now, since I bet a lot of people will want to taste their free dessert. According to posters on Yelp, they serve up some yummy churros, while their vanilla bean cream brulee isn’t as good as expected. Also, the Berry Bread Pudding is apparently divine. Have you tried the dessert at K’ya? What would you suggest to your apartment community neighbors?

This sweet occasion is here in order to celebrate the premiere of Top Chef Just Desserts. This show will have its first episode tonight on Bravo.

OC Custom Wine.

It’s going to be a long Labor Day weekend here in Anaheim. This means it’s time to celebrate. I don’t know about you, but some good wine is exactly what I need right now.

If you haven’t been to OC Custom Wine yet, it’s time you take a short drive over there. On second thought, perhaps you should get a good friend to drive you. Or if all else fails, it would take you about 30 to 40 minutes to walk from our apartment.

The main reason you should go this weekend is because right now they have a Fingerlakes International Wine Competition Gold Medal winning wine ready for you to taste. Their 2007 Sonoma Cabernet Franc will be available until its sold out. They will also have the following wines:

  • A multiple award winner: 2007 Central Coast Muscat
  • A multiple award winner: 2009 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc
  • A multiple award winner: 2007 Central Coast Petite Sirah
  • 2007 Napa Valley Merlot
  • 2007 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

OC Custom Wine allows you to blend their wines and will make custom wine labels for you. Check out their new tasting menu, as seen on their Facebook page.

Have you been to OC Custom Wine right here in the vicinity of The Crossing.
